Chris Martin picks up first save Friday

by Mike Maher | Red Sox Correspondent | Sat, Aug 1st 8:30am EDT

Braves reliever Chris Martin allowed one hit and one walk while striking out one over an inning of work to earn his first save of the season in Friday's comeback win over the New York Mets.

Fantasy Impact:

The Braves have a deep bullpen with Mark Melancon penciled in as the closer and Will Smith, Shane Greene, and Luke Jackson all handling late-inning duties, so Martin may not see many more save opportunities. Still, he has a hold and a save in his last two appearances, so he does have some value in leagues that award points for both saves and holds.
