Will Smith is slated to face live hitters for the first time on Monday as he prepares to be activated from the IL following a positive COVID-19 test. (David O'Brien on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Smith has yet to pitch in the regular season and was only cleared to rejoin the Braves on July 26th. He's spent the last week or so getting stretched out and is inching closer to joining the team. He's likely to start out as a setup man for current closer Mark Melancon once he returns but he'll still hold fantasy value. He's coming off a stellar 2019 when he registered a 1.03 WHIP and 4.57 K:BB ratio across 65.1 innings with the San Francisco Giants.
