Craig Kimbrel at risk of losing closer role?

“I’m in the middle of conversations with Craig,” Ross said. “We’ll have those first before I talk to you guys. We’ll see where he’s at. We’ll see how his arm feels, and we’ll go from there.’’ Kimbrel has struggled mightily to start the season, owning a 27.00 ERA and 4.50 WHIP across one 1/3 innings. He remains the Cubs closer, but if he continues to struggle, the team could turn into a different direction. Jeremy Jeffress would be next in line for save opportunities if Kimbrel is removed from the closer role.
