Chase Utley sees first action at second base this spring

by Kerry Kauffman | Sat, Mar 21st 4:15pm EDT

Despite a 6-3 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday, the Phillies had some positives from Saturday's game. One was the appearance of Chase Utley at second base for the first time this spring. He showed no signs of ankle problems in the field and went 0-for-2 with a run scored. Utley is hitting .438 in Grapefruit League play.

Fantasy Impact:

Utley is on pace to start Opening Day, as scheduled. Playing in 155 games last season, Utley struggled after the end of May and finished with a .270 average, 11 home runs and 78 RBI. Expect Utley to play around 130 to 140 games this season and continue to be one of the best offensive second basemen in the National League.
