Cleveland right-hander Zach Plesac pitched well in a 3-2 loss to the Reds on Monday. Plesac allowed three runs over seven innings while striking out six.
Plesac cruised through three scoreless innings before Nick Castellanos hit a solo homer in the fourth. Joey Votto then hit a two-run shot in the sixth, which was all Cincy needed against a struggling Cleveland offense. Plesac has been a pleasant surprise thus far, posting a 1.80 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 15 innings of work.
