Brady Singer gave up four runs on five hits across 5.0 innings while striking eight out and walking two in the Royals' 5-2 loss to the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday.
The Cubs have a veteran-laden lineup and they really made Singer work, he registered a season-high 93 pitches in this one. His big mistakes were a couple 2-run HR to Jason Heyward and Jason Kipnis, respectively. It wasn't all bad for Singer as he managed a career-high eight punch-outs and he's now logged exactly 5.0 innings in all three of his starts this year. Through three starts he has a 4.80 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and a 3:1 K/BB ratio over 15 innings. He's slated to toe the rubber again on Sunday at home against Minnesota but should be started with caution against the heavy hitting Twins.
