Jesus Luzardo struck out five over five innings of work in his first start of the year Tuesday. He allowed two hits, walked two, and threw 76 pitches.
Fantasy Impact:
Luzardo has struck out 12 over 11.2 innings over three games this year with a 2.31 ERA and 1.11 WHIP. The A’s could continue to handle him carefully to start the season, having thrown just 43 total innings last year, but the 22 year old has three above average offerings and skill set to be a dominant starter. If you own him start him and expect his innings/pitch count to increase as the season wears on.
