Jose Quintana, who is recovering from a cut on his thumb, threw a simulated game on Thursday and was able to throw all four pitches in his repertoire per Cubs manager David Ross. (Bruce Levine on Twitter)

This is another sign that Quintana is trending in the right direction as he continues to ramp up for his season-debut. The lefty has been on the shelf since early July after cutting his thumb while cleaning a wine glass. He's slated to throw a bullpen session on Saturday and looks on track to rejoin the Cubs' starting rotation next week, barring any setbacks.
