Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) likely headed to the IL

by Mike Maher | Yankees Correspondent | Sat, Aug 8th 8:40pm EDT

Yankees outfielder/designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton left Saturday's game with a tight hamstring and is likely headed to the injured list, according to manager Aaron Boone. Yankees beat reporter Bryan Hoch Stanton felt his hamstring tighten in the fourth inning while moving up on a wild pitch and is headed for an MRI. (Brendan Kuty on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

After playing just 18 games in 2019, Stanton is headed back to the injured list after playing in fewer than 15 games in 2020. It isn't yet clear how severe the injury is, but it is significant enough to warrant an MRI and the immediate reaction of an IL stint from Yankees manager Aaron Boone.
