Brad Hand earns hold

by Matthew Adam | Mon, Aug 10th 6:31am EDT

Cleveland Indians closer Brad Hand earned a hold in a 5-4 win over the White Sox on Sunday night. Hand allowed one run to score in 1/3 of an inning.

Fantasy Impact:

A 10th-inning rain delay likely prevented Hand from blowing the save as he had two runners on with one out when the delay hit. Hand clearly had trouble gripping the ball in the wet conditions and a misplayed fly ball by Bradley Zimmer in center field didn't help matters. By the time the 46-minute rain delay ended, it was Oliver Perez who was tabbed to finish out the game. Hand has a 0-1 record, 7.71 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, four saves, and seven strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings of work this season.
