Gregory Polanco sidelined by bruised ribs Sunday

OF Gregory Polanco was held out of Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Tigers with a "mild" case of bruised ribs, said Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk. (Adam Berry on Twitter)

Polanco collided with teammate Phillip Evans in Saturday's loss. He sustained bruised ribs as a result of the collision. The Pirates-Cardinals series has been postponed, he will have a few extra days to recover. Polanco is slashing .069/.152/.207 with one home run, five RBI and two runs scored across 33 plate appearances this season.
