Twins catcher and utility player Willians Astudillo is “getting very close” to being an option to be promoted to the big league club, according to a report from The Athletic's Aaron Gleeman. Astudillo was cleared to leave his extended COVID-19 quarantine and begin working out with the team two weeks ago. (Aaron Gleeman, The Athletic)
Astudillo is eligible at first base, third base, outfield, and catcher in most leagues, which catcher being obviously the most important. In 58 games last season, Astudillo batted .268 with four home runs while walking just five times and striking out just eight times in 190 at-bats.
