Kris Bubic struggles with command, gives up five runs in no decision

by Jon Mathisen | Royals Correspondent | Tue, Aug 11th 10:20pm EDT

Kris Bubic gave up five runs on seven hits with six strike outs and one walk across 5.0 innings in the Royals 6-5 extra innings loss to the Reds on Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact:

Despite only walking one batter, Bubic had some control issues on Tuesday. He was in trouble early and often as he threw just 60 of his 100 pitches for strikes. After giving up five runs via two-run double and a pair of home runs through the first three innings, Bubic settled down and kept the Reds off the scoreboard through the final two frames he pitched. The rookie left-hander has been pleasant surprise for the Royals this season overall. He'll take a 5.40 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and a 15:4 K/BB ratio across 15.0 innings into his next start at Minnesota.
