Rhys Hoskins not being dropped in batting order despite early struggles

by Mike Maher | Brewers Correspondent | Thu, Aug 13th 10:28am EDT

The Phillies are not currently planning to move first baseman Rhys Hoskins down in the batting order despite his early struggles, according to manager Joe Girardi. Hoskins went 0-for-4 on Wednesday night and grounded into three double plays. (Tim Kelly on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Through 13 games, Hoskins has yet to hit a home run and is batting just .190. He does have 14 walks and a .404 OBP, which helps in OBP leagues, but his counting stats are definitely lacking to begin the season. As for advanced metrics, his exit velocity and hard-hit numbers are good, but his barrel and whiff percentages are well below average.
