Anthony DeSclafani (1-1) allowed nine earned runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out one across two innings to take the loss in Thursday's 9-6 defeat to the Pirates.

DeSclafani yielded two home runs to start the game, and allowed nine of the first 10 batters he faced to reach base in the second inning. Prior to the rough outing, he tossed 11 straight scoreless frames. DeSclafani owns a 6.23 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and a 9:3 K:BB across 13 innings this season. He will look to rebound in his next start, Wednesday against the Royals.
