Yordan Alvarez to have season-ending knee surgery
by Mike Maher | Astros Correspondent | Wed, Aug 19th 6:10pm EDT
Astros designated hitter Yordan Alvarez is having surgery next week to repair a partially torn patella tendon and will miss the rest of the season, according to a report from The Athletic's Jake Kaplan. (Jake Kaplan on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Astros manager Dusty Baker hinted earlier on Wednesday that Alvarez could be done for the year, and the report of upcoming surgery confirms what we all feared. Alvarez dealt with a knee injury last season, as well, and only played in two games this season after beginning the year on the COVID-19 injured list.
