Edwin Diaz blows save but earns first win Wednesday

by Mike Maher | Mets Correspondent | Thu, Aug 20th 10:26am EDT

Mets reliever Edwin Diaz walked in a run after coming into a bases-loaded jam in the eighth inning to get charged with a blown save, but he rebounded to strike out the next four batters he faced and was rewarded with a win for his efforts.

Fantasy Impact:

With Seth Lugo headed to the rotation and Diaz pitching reasonably well of late, the latter could be returning to his role as the team's closer. A blown save isn't usually a great start for your first save opportunity, but he did get thrown into a difficult situation in the eighth inning with the bases already loaded.
