Nick Margevicius limits Angels to two runs but takes the loss

by Jon Mathisen | Sat, Aug 29th 12:40am EDT

Nick Margevicius picked up a quality start but took the loss on Friday when he allowed two runs on seven hits with five strikeouts and two walks over six innings in the M's 3-2 loss to the Angels.

Fantasy Impact:

Margevicius kept the Angels off the board through five innings, working his way out of a bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the third. He ran into trouble in the bottom of the sixth when he gave up an RBI double to Albert Pujols and an RBI single to Justin Upton with two outs. In the end he took a tough luck loss and saw his record fall to 1-2. The big left-hander will take a 3.86 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and a 23:5 K/BB ratio through 25.2 innings (four starts) into his next start against the A's.
