Caleb Smith traded to Diamondbacks on Monday

by Lucas Babits-Feinerman | Diamondbacks Correspondent | Mon, Aug 31st 3:13pm EDT

Caleb Smith was traded from the Miami Marlins to the Arizona Diamondbacks before Monday's trade deadline. The return package for Smith is unknown at this moment. Look for the Marlins and Diamondbacks to update the return package by end of business Monday. The Diamondbacks are 14-21 this season. (Craig Mish on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Smith, who has been out with COVID-19, has not appeared in a game for the Marlins since July 25th. He features a Fastball-Slider-Change up mix with a seldom used Curveball. He finished last season with a 4.52 ERA, 5.05 xFIP and 168 strikeouts in 153 1/3 innings pitched for the Marlins. Owners in 12-team standard redraft leagues can leave Smith on the Waiver Wire for now.
