Cesar Valdez picks up first save

by Carmen Maiorano | Orioles Correspondent | Sat, Sep 5th 10:04am EDT

Cesar Valdez pitched the final two innings of the second game of Friday's doubleheader against the Yankees, giving up one hit and one walk while striking out three. The Orioles won, 6-3, giving Valdez his first save of the year.

Fantasy Impact:

Valdez's save was very unique in a strange season, as the game was only seven innings and several higher-leverage relievers pitched in the first game of the doubleheader. While Valdez has yet to allow a run and has a 0.86 WHIP to go with nine strikeouts in seven innings, leave him on the waiver wire for now.
