Jesus Luzardo tagged for four runs on Friday

Jesus Luzardo took the loss on Friday when he allowed four runs on six hits with four strikeouts and a hit batsman over 4.2 innings as the A's were shutout by the Padres 7-0.

Fantasy Impact:

Luzardo looked sharp through the first four innings, giving up just one hit and inducing nine ground balls. But it all fell apart in the fifth inning when he gave up a single and hit a batter to start things off. He managed to record two outs before surrendering back-to-back doubles and two consecutive singles and was then replaced by J.B. Wendelken. He was charged with four runs by the time the book was closed on him. The box score doesn't indicate how well Luzardo pitched through most of his start but the loaded Padres were eventually able to make him pay. The left-hander now owns a 4.23 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and a 38:13 K/BB ratio over 38.1 innings. He gets the Astros at home in his next rotation turn.
