Adbert Alzolay doesn't last three innings Saturday
by Carmen Maiorano | Cubs Correspondent | Sun, Sep 6th 9:09am EDT
Adbert Alzolay started the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Cardinals, tossing 2 and 2/3 innings. He allowed two runs on two hits and five walks while striking out four. Of his 78 pitches, just 43 of them were strikes. The Cubs lost, 4-2, handing Alzolay his first loss of the season.
Fantasy Impact:
Alzolay, despite the shaky outing, will likely stick on the pitching staff. However, he will probably only be a long reliever that will not impact fantasy leagues. For the season, Alzolay has a 2.08 ERA and 1.38 WHIP to go with 12 strikeouts in 8 and 2/3 innings.
