Genesis Cabrera gets the win in Game Two on Tuesday

by Lucas Babits-Feinerman | Blue Jays Correspondent | Wed, Sep 9th 1:12am EDT

Genesis Cabrera pitched one inning allowing a walk and recording a strike out as the Cardinals beat the Twins 6-4 in Game Two Tuesday. It seems kind of silly that Cabrera could record a win in a game that Cardinals' starter Daniel Ponce de Leon left with a lead that was never surrendered, despite Cabrera not pitching past the fifth inning himself, but those are the rules. The Cardinals move to 18-17 with the win and are in second place in the NL Central.

Fantasy Impact:

Cabrera is 3-1 with a 2.70 ERA, 19 strike outs and 10 walks in 13 1/3 innings pitched this season. He has pitched capably in middle relief for the Cardinals but has not recorded a hold or save this season. Owners in 12-team standard redraft leagues can leave Cabrera on the Waiver Wire.
