Sean Manaea tosses seven inning gem, wins fourth straight

by Jon Mathisen | Mets Correspondent | Thu, Sep 10th 6:55pm EDT

Sean Manaea earned his fourth straight win and notched a quality start when he yielded just one run on two hits and struck out four over seven innings in the A's 3-1 win over the Astros on Thursday.

Fantasy Impact:

Manaea was locked in on Thursday, surrendering a season-low two hits and matching a season-low with only one earned run. Due to his insanely efficient performance--he only needed 61 pitches to get through seven innings--this is the deepest he's pitched all year as well. After a disastrous start to the season the left-hander has really turned it around, picking up four straight wins and only allowing four earned runs over those starts (22 1/3 innings). He now owns a 4.46 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and a 34: 6 K/BB ratio over 42 1/3 innings (nine starts). He carries some streaming appeal into his next turn against the Mariners in Seattle.
