Tyler O'Neill hits long home run as Cardinals beat Tigers in Game One

by Lucas Babits-Feinerman | Red Sox Correspondent | Fri, Sep 11th 12:59pm EDT

Tyler O'Neill hit a two-run home run off Joe Jimenez in the third inning of the Cardinals 12-2 rout of the Tigers in Game One Thursday. O'Neill finished the game 2-3 with the home run, one single, one walk, two RBI, one run scored, one stolen base and one strikeout. The Cardinals moved to 19-17 with the victory.

Fantasy Impact:

O'Neill has five home runs this season with a .192/.279/.384 slash line. He started off the season hitting clean-up for the Cardinals but struggled and was dropped down in the line-up. Since September first O'Neill is slashing .250/.294/.500 which is much more in line with what we've seen him do in the minor leagues. He has elite power potential and owners in 12-team standard redraft leagues should add him to their watch lists because if he gets hot he will be worth picking up.
