Yusei Kikuchi gives up four runs over six innings, handed the loss

by Jon Mathisen | Blue Jays Correspondent | Sat, Sep 12th 11:49am EDT

Yusei Kikuchi took the loss on Friday when he allowed four runs on six hits with five strikeouts and one walk across six innings in the Mariners 4-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Fantasy Impact:

The D-backs got to Kikuchi right off the bat in the first inning when the southpaw was tagged for three runs via a triple, sac fly, and single. He only surrendered two hits and gave up one run over the next five innings but the Mariners offense couldn't muster enough runs to reclaim the lead and he was saddled with his loss of the season. The left-hander now owns a 5.35 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and a 39:11 K/BB ratio across 37 innings (seven starts). Kikuchi is hard to trust for streaming purposes in his next start against the Giants.
