Johnny Cueto takes his first loss of the season on Sunday

by Jon Mathisen | Mon, Sep 14th 11:37am EDT

Johnny Cueto started Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Padres and allowed six runs (four earned) on seven hits with two strikeouts and three walks as the Giants lost 6-0.

Fantasy Impact:

Cueto was't sharp in this one and his defense did him no favors, either. He scattered seven hits and three walks but a Donovan Solano throwing error in the bottom of the sixth led to two extra runs. The 34-year old now owns a 4.78 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and a 48:22 K/BB ratio over 52 2/3 innings (10 starts). He's not a recommended streaming option for his next turn against the A's in Oakland.
