Jonathan Schoop (wrist) placed on IL Tuesday

by Lucas Babits-Feinerman | Wed, Sep 16th 2:11am EDT

Jonathan Schoop (wrist) was placed on the IL after attempting to play through a sprained wrist. He was injured after being hit by Brewers' pitcher Adrian Houser on September eighth. If he is able to return this season it would only be for the last weekend of the season. Niko Goodrum was recalled in a corresponding move. (Detroit Free Press on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Schoop will likely finish the season slashing .278/.324/.475 with eight home runs in 162 at-bats for the Tigers. It was a solid 2020 campaign for the second baseman who will be a free agent this winter. His 1.3 WAR matches his mark from last season in 271 fewer at-bats. Owners looking to replace Schoop's production at second base can add Wilmer Flores, Jurickson Profar, Tommy La Stella, Andres Gimenez or Tommy Edman if they are available.
