Jose Iglesias (ankle) leaves early Wednesday

by Lucas Babits-Feinerman | Mets Correspondent | Thu, Sep 17th 1:42am EDT

Jose Iglesias (ankle) was hit by a pitch in the eighth inning and forced to leave the game. Rio Ruiz was called upon to pinch run for Iglesias. Iglesias' availability for Thursday's game against the Rays is up in the air. Look for the Orioles to update his status before the game. (Joe Trezza on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Iglesias is slashing .381/.402/.516 in 127 at-bats for the Orioles this season. However, his .424 BABIP is .116 points higher than his career average .308 BABIP. He also is not hitting the ball particularly hard, his 85.3 MPH exit velocity is in the sixth percentile among all qualified batters. Iglesias is likely going to face some serious regression in batting average either this season or next. Fantasy owners in standard 12-team redraft leagues can continue to play him while he is hot. He is not a recommended keeper in keeper leagues.
