Genesis Cabrera records first save of the season Saturday

by Lucas Babits-Feinerman | Blue Jays Correspondent | Sun, Sep 20th 12:25pm EDT

Genesis Cabrera pitched the final inning and two thirds, striking out three and not allowing a baserunner as the Cardinals topped the Pirates 5-4 on Saturday. The Cardinals are now 25-24 and in Second Place in the NL Central.

Fantasy Impact:

Cabrera has a 4-1 record with one save and a 2.89 ERA in 18 2/3 innings pitched for the Cardinals this season. He has gotten lucky with BABIP, his .129 season mark is .131 points lower than his .260 BABIP career average, as his luck evens out expect his ERA to rise. With Giovanny Gallegos scheduled to rejoin the team next week, don't expect Cabrera to receive too many more save opportunities. Owners in standard 12-team redraft leagues can leave him on the Waiver Wire.
