Jake Arrieta (hamstring) plays catch on Sunday

by Jon Mathisen | Sun, Sep 20th 4:55pm EDT

Jake Arrieta, who was placed on the IL on September 16th with a Grade 1 hamstring strain, played catch in the outfield on Sunday. He appeared to be pushing off his right leg to test his hamstring, per beat writer Meghan Montemurro. (Meghan Montemurro on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Arrieta will be eligible to come off the IL this coming weekend but manager Joe Giardi already stated that he would miss the rest of the regular season. It appears the right-hander is just working his way back in hopes of being ready if the Phillies make the playoffs. As of now Philadelphia it holding on to the seventh seed in the NL.
