Julio Teheran lasts just one inning in loss to Rangers

by Lucas Spence | Sun, Sep 20th 11:59pm EDT

Julio Teheran was lifted after retiring only three batters on Sunday, having yielded three earned runs on two hits and two walks and failing to record a strikeout.

Fantasy Impact:

Teheran falls to 0-4 on the season and has been one of the worst pitchers in baseball this season (9.49 ERA, 1.68 WHIP) after signing a one-year, $9 million contract with the Angels in the offseason. Teheran surrendered a two-run home run to Joey Gallo in the first inning. Then, after allowing another home run to Anderson Tejeda and a walk to begin the second inning, Angels skipper Joe Madden had seen enough and pulled the plug after only 31 pitches. Teheran is tentatively scheduled to face the Dodgers next weekend and should be avoided in all fantasy leagues.
