Mike Minor rocked for six runs in loss to the Giants

by Jon Mathisen | Mon, Sep 21st 12:00pm EDT

Mike Minor took his sixth loss of the season on Sunday when he allowed six runs on four hits while whiffing eight and walking three over five innings in the A's 14-2 loss to the Giants.

Fantasy Impact:

This was quite the contrast from Minor's last start when he pitched a complete game shutout against the Mariners. As evidenced by the final score, Oakland's bullpen couldn't contain San Francisco's offense, either. Minor gave up a pair of two-run homers to Chadwick Tromp and Darin Ruf, respectively before the final run attributed to his line came around to score after he exited the game in the top of the sixth. Despite the troubles, the left-hander was still able to strike out eight. He now owns a 5.92 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, and a 55:20 K/BB ratio across 51 2/3 innings (10 starts) between the Rangers and the A's. He'll get the Mariners on the road in his final regular season tuneup.
