Matt Carpenter slugs fourth home run of the season on Monday

by Lucas Babits-Feinerman | Cardinals Correspondent | Mon, Sep 21st 11:56pm EDT

Matt Carpenter went 1-4 with a solo home run and one strikeout as the Cardinals lost to the Royals 4-1 on Monday. Carpenter hit a mammoth 439 foot home run off Royals starter Carlos Hernandez to get the Cardinals on the board in the second inning but that was the extent of their offense for the night. They fell to 26-25 on the season and are tied with the Cincinnati Reds for Second Place in the NL Central despite playing four fewer games.

Fantasy Impact:

Carpenter is slashing .188/.320/.320 in 124 at-bats for the Cardinals this season. Owners in standard 12-team redraft leagues can leave him on the Waiver Wire.
