Frankie Montas struggles vs. Dodgers, surrenders five runs

by Jon Mathisen | Reds Correspondent | Wed, Sep 23rd 1:34am EDT

Frankie Montas took his fifth loss of the season on Tuesday when he allowed five runs on seven hits with three strikeouts and one walk across four innings in the A's 7-2 loss to the Dodgers.

Fantasy Impact:

This was another frustrating start for Montas, granted it was against the high-powered Dodgers, who hasn't pitched with any level of consistency all season. He hasn't logged a quality start since August eighth and has given up less than four runs just once in his last six turns. The 27-year old now owns a disappointing 6.32 ERA, 1.57 WHIP, and a 47:21 K/BB ratio over 47 innings pitched (10 starts). He'll face the Mariners at home in a final regular season tuneup on Saturday before postseason play begins.
