Austin Slater slugs fifth home run of the season

by Jon Mathisen | Giants Correspondent | Wed, Sep 23rd 2:40am EDT

Austin Slater stuffed the stat sheet on Tuesday when he went 2-for-2 with a home run, two runs scored, a stolen base, and three walks in the Giants 5-2 win over the Rockies.

Fantasy Impact:

Slater put the Giants on the board in the bottom of the first inning when he smacked a solo shot off Kyle Freeland. He would reach base four more times in the game and swipe his eighth bag of the year. Slater has been excellent for the Giants this season with a .324 batting average and a 1.033 OPS with five home runs, seven RBI, and eight stolen bases. Due to some injuries and an IL stint earlier this season, the sample size is small, though, at just 71 at-bats. As long as he's in the lineup, he should be rostered in all fantasy formats.
