Brandon Lowe went 2-for-5 with a homer, three RBI, and two runs scored as the Rays beat the Mets on Wednesday to clinch the American League East.
It's fitting that Lowe played a role in the clinching game. The 26-year-old was a legitimate AL MVP candidate for much of the season's first half. He eventually cooled a bit as all streaky hitters do, but overall he remained Tampa Bay's best hitter for the year. Lowe is hitting .274 with 11 homers and a .933 OPS with just a few games left in the 2020 campaign.
