Trevor Cahill takes the loss in relief on Thursday

by Jon Mathisen | Thu, Sep 24th 9:02pm EDT

Trevor Cahill took the loss on Thursday when he allowed one unearned run while striking out one and walking one in the Giants extra-innings loss to the Rockies.

Fantasy Impact:

Cahill entered in the top of the 11th inning in a 4-4 tie with a runner on second-base. He recorded a ground out then walked Matt Kemp before giving up a sac fly to Raimel Tapia. He was saddled with the loss despite the run being unearned. Cahill has been solid this year but there hasn't been much volume behind his numbers. He owns a 3.28 ERA with a 1.22 WHIP across 24 2/3 innings (10 appearances) for the Giants this year. He'll likely work out of the bullpen if San Francisco ends up making the playoffs.
