Mike Clevinger: Padres targeting an NLCS return for ace right-hander

by Brendan Tuma | White Sox Correspondent | Fri, Sep 25th 7:44am EDT

MLB Network's Jon Heyman reports that the Padres are targeting an NLCS return for Mike Clevinger (elbow). (Jon Heyman on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Heyman added that Clevinger could possibly return for the second round of the playoffs (NLDS) if everything goes perfectly, but that the wild card round has been ruled out. Clevinger' sprained elbow is a crushing blow to a team with legitimate World Series aspirations. The 29-year-old lasted just one inning in his most recent start on Wednesday. Chris Paddack, Dinelson Lamet, and Zach Davies will likely be the Padres' starters for the opening round of postseason play.
