Yusei Kikuchi blanks A's over six innings in no-decision

by Jon Mathisen | Blue Jays Correspondent | Sat, Sep 26th 2:31am EDT

Yusei Kikuchi took a no-decision on Friday when he surrendered no runs on four hits with five strikeouts and three walks over six innings in the Mariners 3-1 loss to the A's in extra-innings.

Fantasy Impact:

Kikuchi was able to finish his disappointing season on a high-note by shutting down the playoff bound Athletics over six scoreless frames. The 29-year old showed little improvement from his lackluster 2019 season in which he registered a 5.46 ERA and 1.52 WHIP. He ends the 2020 season with a 2-4 record to go along with a 5.17 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and a 47:20 K/BB ratio across 47 innings (nine starts). The left-hander can't be pleased with his career thus far in the major leagues and it's highly doubtful the Mariners are happy with his performance, either.
