Mike Trout takes Kershaw deep for 17th homer of the season

by Lucas Spence | Angels Correspondent | Sat, Sep 26th 11:14am EDT

Mike Trout connected for a three-run home run in Friday’s loss to the Dodgers. Trout smashed a Clayton Kershaw curveball with two on and two out in the top of the third inning to briefly give the Angels the lead. It was the first home run of Trout’s career off of the future Hall-of-Fame pitcher. He finished the game 1-for-4 with one run and three RBI.

Fantasy Impact:

Trout entered the night in a bit of a slump over the past two weeks, as he had not homered in his past 12 games while hitting just .233 (10-for-43) over that stretch. The Angels fell to 26-32 on the season with tonight’s loss and once again will not be playing in the postseason (last playoff berth was 2014). In 53 games this season, Trout is slashing .281/.603/.993 with 17 HR, 41 R, 46 RBI, and 1 SB and is tied with Marcell Ozuna and Jose Ramirez for the third most homers in the majors behind Luke Voit (21) and Jose Abreu (19).
