Justus Sheffield limits Oakland to one run over five on Saturday

by Jon Mathisen | Sun, Sep 27th 12:17pm EDT

Justus Sheffield took a no-decision in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the A's when he allowed just one run on five hits with two walks and one strikeout over five innings in the Mariners win.

Fantasy Impact:

Sheffield didn't rack up many strikeouts in this one but he was able to hold down the powerful Oakland offense to just one run via a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning. The young left-hander had a very encouraging season for the Mariners, registering a 4-3 record, 3.58 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and a 48:20 K/BB ratio across 55 1/3 innings (10 starts). He's worthy of a mid-to-late round pick in mixed league drafts next season as he looks to make another jump in his career.
