Patrick Sandoval leaves early with calf strain

by Lucas Spence | Angels Correspondent | Mon, Sep 28th 12:10am EDT

Angels pitcher Patrick Sandoval filled in as the starting pitcher on Sunday for the Angels season finale against the Dodgers but lasted only 2.2 innings before being removed with an injury (calf strain). Sandoval gave up three runs (two earned) on just one hit with three walks while striking out three before his early exit.

Fantasy Impact:

The 23-year-old southpaw allowed a lead-off home run to A.J. Pollock to begin the game and otherwise was done in by his free passes (3 walks). Sandoval took the loss Sunday (1-5) and finishes the season with an unsightly 5.65 ERA and 1.34 WHIP working as both a starter and a reliever during the year.
