Matt Carpenter was given the day off on Sunday as the Cardinals beat the Brewers 5-2 to clinch a playoff birth.
Fantasy Impact:
Carpenter had a season to forget in 2020. He was worth 0.2 WAR while hitting .186 with four home runs, zero stolen bases, 22 runs, and 24 RBI in 140 at-bats. Carpenter is in the midst of a three year decline that has seen his WAR drop from 5.0 to 1.2 to 0.2 this season (projected 0.6 over 162 games). Fantasy owners can ignore the former MVP candidate on draft day in 2021.
