Max Fried tosses seven shutout innings in Game 1

by Mike Maher | Braves Correspondent | Wed, Sep 30th 9:31pm EDT

Braves starter Max Fried tosses seven shutout innings in a no-decision against the Cincinnati Reds in Game 1 of the Wild Card Round on Wednesday. The Braves went on to win 1-0 in 13 innings.

Fantasy Impact:

Fried and Trevor Bauer went almost pitch-for-pitch on Wednesday, combining for 14 2/3 shutout innings in a game that remained scoreless until Freddie Freeman walked things off in extra innings. Fried pitched to a 2.25 ERA and a 7-0 record this season, and he entered his final start of the season with a sub-2.00 ERA before allowing two runs and leaving with an ankle issue. The ankle didn't show any signs of bothering him on Wednesday.
