Chris Bassitt shuts down ChiSox to force Game 3

by Jon Mathisen | Blue Jays Correspondent | Thu, Oct 1st 12:29am EDT

Chris Bassitt locked up the win on Wednesday as he gave up just one run on six hits with five strikeouts and one walk across seven innings in the A's 5-3 win over the White Sox.

Fantasy Impact:

Bassitt was sharp on Wednesday, quieting the potent White Sox offense over seven solid frames. The right-hander was very efficient, needing just 92 pitches--65 strikes--before exiting the ball game. He gave up a single to Tim Anderson in the eighth inning and was replaced by Liam Hendriks, who gave up a two-run shot to Yasmani Grandal. All in all, Bassitt did his job, much like he did all season for the A's. Oakland will look to advance to the Divisional Round on Thursday for the first time since 2013.
