Nick Madrigal collects two hits but commits costly error in defeat

Nick Madrigal went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles and a run scored in the White Sox 5-3 Wild Card Round loss to the A's on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact:

Madrigal had a fine day at the plate but it was a fielding error in the bottom of the first inning that will most likely be remembered. With the bases-loaded and two outs, Matt Olson slapped a hard chopper to the right side of the infield. Madrigal was in position to field it as the shift was on but mishandled the ball, which allowed two-runners to score. The Sox would ultimately lose by two runs but the young second baseman shouldn't be the only one to blame as they left 20 runners on-base as a team.
