Adam Wainwright took a no-decision on Thursday when he surrendered two runs on six hits with two walks and three strikeouts over 3 1/3 innings in the Cardinals 11-9 loss to the Padres in Game 2 on Thursday.
Waino was cruising through the first three innings, only allowing three hits and a walk to the mighty San Diego offense. But he ran out of steam in the bottom of the fourth when he allowed three-straight singles and a force out to give up his first run. He then recorded a walk and was replaced by Austin Gomber, who walked in another run, which was credited to Wainwright. The Cardinals must now play in a pivotal Game 3 on Friday to determine who will advance to the NLDS.
