Despite his defensive struggles, Castro is expected to be an everyday player for the Tigers in 2021."We feel he has the athletic ability to play anywhere in the field. When a guy hits, you find a place for him," said Tigers GM Al Avila. "Not overly concerned with defensive struggles, which sometimes happens to young players." Castro slashed .349/.381/.550 with six home runs, 24 RBI and 21 runs scored over 140 plate appearances in 2020.
