Gerrit Cole strikes out eight in Game 1 victory over the Rays

by Brad Camara | Yankees Correspondent | Tue, Oct 6th 6:19am EDT

Gerrit Cole (1-0) allowed three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out eight over six innings in Monday's 9-3 Game 1 win over the Rays.

Fantasy Impact:

Cole picked up the win and limited the Rays to three runs over six innings. He escaped a bases loaded jam by striking out Manuel Margot in the fifth frame. The 30-old is (2-0) along with a 3.46 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 21 strikeouts over 13 innings during the 2020 postseason. Cole will most likely pitch Game 4 if deemed necessary.
